Contact
American composer Carman Moore lives in New York City's Upper West Side. His teachers before and during Masters degree studies at the Juilliard School were Hall Overton, Vincent Persichetti, and Luciano Berio--additional studies with Stefan Wolpe. His compositions vary widely in style, though always seeming to come from one sensibility. He has also served as music critic (The Village Voice and N.Y. Times) and librettist (not only for his own work..."Mass For the 21st Century"... but also for "Truth" by Alvin Singleton and "Tales from the Briar Patch" by Nkeiru Okoye). He conducts and directs The Skymusic Ensemble, but also serves as composer and keyboardist for his anti-child abuse song cycle with vocalist Lotte Arnsbjerg "Girl of Diamond Mountain."
